The Minister of International Relations and Minister Responsible for La Francophonie, Mr. Pierre Arcand, salutes the appointment of Mr. John Parisella as the new Québec Delegate General in New York and that of Mr. Robert Keating as Assistant Deputy Minister of International Relations beginning November 16, 2009.
Mr. Parisella’s appointment was confirmed by Cabinet on September 30. Pierre Arcand welcomed the news, saying that “Mr. Parisella is considered one of Québec’s foremost specialists on U.S. politics. He will be responsible for implementing the Québec government’s U.S. strategy. We are very proud that a man of his stature is representing Québec in New York.”
Mr. John Parisella is president of BCP, a communications and advertising firm. He holds a diploma in political science from Concordia University, a masters in political science from McGill University, diplomas in business and education from McGill University as well as a certificate from the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Mr. Parisella is also an associate member of the United States Observatory of the Raoul-Dandurand Chair of Université du Québec à Montréal.
Mr. Robert Keating, the current Québec Delegate General in New York, will be leaving the position he has occupied since 2008 to become the new Assistant Deputy Minister of International Relations.
“I wish to thank Mr. Keating for his hard work. His years of experience in international relations and in Québec’s network of offices abroad will stand him in excellent stead in the performance of his new duties,” stated Minister Arcand.
