The Montreal World Film Festival, Le Mois de la photo à Montréal and the Festival international de la littérature are some of the international events that will kick off an exciting new season in Montreal.
From August 27 to September 7, the 33rd World Film Festival will present 240 feature films including 130 world premieres coming from more than 78 countries.
Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal, an international biennale of contemporary photography, will launch its 11th presentation on September 10, 2009. Under the theme "The Spaces of the Image" developed by guest curator Gaëlle Morel, the event consists of more than 20 solo exhibitions featuring works by artists from Canada, the U.S., Chile, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, France, Israel, Lebanon, Netherlands, Switzerland, Turkey, and the U.K. The exhibitions and public space interventions will be presented in partnership with different museums, galleries, artist-run centres, and maisons de la culture across the city.
Finally, from September 18 to 27, the 15th Festival international de la littérature will offer ten days of literary events with close to 200 writers and artists off all disciplines coming from Québec and abroad.
