The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Pierre Moreau, and several people from the Québec Delegation in Los Angeles attended the 11th edition of VerdeXchange, which took place from January 28-30, 2018 at the LA Hotel Downtown.

This is the annual meeting where clean and green technology entrepreneurs, energy and water companies, public policy makers as well as buyers, venture capitalists and environmental managers come together to evaluate current and future market trends.
Several Québec companies were in the spotlight:
• Agrisoma, developer of Carinata mustard seeds, from which biofuel is produced. The first transpacific flight using this biofuel between the United States and Australia was highlighted at a press conference on January 28 at LAX airport, in the presence of Agrisoma president Steven Fabijanski, Minister Moreau and the CEO of Qantas International;
• Nordresa: develops, manufactures and markets electric transmissions for commercial vehicles. Nordresa converted Purolator's fleet of vehicles in Québec to electric power.
• Effenco: recognized leader in improving the energy efficiency of heavy goods vehicles such as waste collection trucks, terminal tractors and delivery trucks.
The Minister also took advantage of his visit to meet with Mary Nichols, Chair of the California Air Resources Board, and Andrew McAllister, Commissioner at the California Energy Commission, to discuss energy efficiency and carbon emissions reduction as priorities for Québec and California.
