The Québec Government Office in Los Angeles is a proud partner of an upcoming symposium on the Québec / California carbon market organized by the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), which will take place on March 31, 2014.
The event will bring together academics and policymakers from Québec, Canada and the United States to discuss benefits and challenges of the linkage, how to expand this program and promote other regulators to create a regional linkage.
Featuring speakers include California Air Resource Board Chairman Mary Nichols, State Senator and Author of AB 32 Fran Pavley, Director, Carbon Market Division, Québec Climate Change Office Jean-Yves Benoit, Latham & Watkins Partner JP Brisson, UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability Professor Matt Kahn, and HEC Montreal, Department of International Business Professor Bernard Sinclair-Desgagné.
The symposium is organised by the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, the Emmett Center on Climate Change and the Environment, the Luskin Center for Innovation and the Canadian Studies at UCLA, with the support of the Québec Government Office in Los Angeles, the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles and the California Air Resources Board.
This is a free event, opened to the public. A lunch and a reception will be offered.
