The Quebec Government Office in Los Angeles will take part to the US- Australian Dialogue on Carbon Pricing, a conference being held by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the UC Davis Policy Institute for Energy, Environment and the Economy, on January 15th, 2013.
The Quebec Government Representative in Los Angeles, Alain Houde, will be one of five panelists invited to discuss carbon and opportunities for expanding cooperation.
Last December, the Quebec Government adopted the Regulation Amending the Regulation respecting a cap-and-trade system for greenhouse gas emission (GHG) allowances.
The adoption of this amendment now makes it possible to link the Québec and California systems. Linkage is scheduled to take place in spring 2012 and the first joint auction is planned for August, 2013.
