Oscars: War Witch and Henry receive nominations

Nominations for the 85th annual Academy Awards were announced on January 10 and Québec is nicely represented again this year.

Kim Nguyen's child soldier drama War Witch (Rebelle) received a nomination in the best foreign-language film category. With Monsieur Lazhar in 2012 and Incendies in 2011, War Witch marks the third consecutive year that a film from Québec has received a nod in the category.

Quebec actor Yan England also received a nomination in the live-action short film category for his film Henry.

The Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 24, in Los Angeles.
