The Québec Government Office in Los Angeles hosted an evening "Diplomacy and Cirque du Soleil" with more than 60 representatives of the Los Angeles Consular Press Organization on Friday, December 7. All participants had the opportunity to see IRIS, a “Journey through the World of Cinema”, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Charles Beraud, Public Affairs Coordinator at the Cirque, reminded participants of the company's history, from its beginnings in the small town of Baie-St-Paul, Quebec, up to his first show on American soil in Santa Monica, realized at the time with the collaboration of the Quebec Delegation.
He also explained the importance of culture as a tool of diplomacy and social development, relying on citizenship actions of the Cirque in the United States.
The Quebec Representative in Los Angeles, Alain Houde, took the opportunity to remember 40 years of the Quebec Delegation in Los Angeles, and to explain Quebec's role and actions as a federated State in California and in the world. Quebec is the only federated State member of the Los Angeles Consular Press Organization.
