Québec’s delegation in Los Angeles actively supported the SIAL Canada trade mission in Montréal on May 9 to 11 and contributed to its success by identifying, contacting and accompanying enterprises from West America for this event.
Participating companies from the west coast of the U.S. included: Trader Joe’s, Haggen Markets, Kehe Distributors and the Aniata Cheese Company. Hopefully they will soon be bringing new and interesting products to retail shelves in the western U.S. over the next few months.
With 676 exhibitors and attracting over 13 000 visiting professionals from 60 different countries, SIAL Canada which took place in Montreal, was a great success.
Again this year with assistance from the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPAC), international wholesalers and retailers were welcomed to Montreal to meet with new potential food suppliers.
Many new products were launched at SIAL Canada but the big winner of the Trends and Innovations Award was Citadelle’s “Maple Pearls,” a new manifestation of Quebec’s well known maple industry.
