President and CEO of the national Library and Archives of Québec (BAnQ), Mr. Guy Berthiaume, and the director of cultural programming, Mrs Nicole Vallieres, were in Los Angeles from February 21 to 23, 2012 for a business visit.

The mission was to explore different partnerships with cultural institutions in Los Angeles. They had meetings with executives of companies such as Warner Bros., which recently signed an agreement with BAnQ, and also the Getty Research Institute as a follow-up of last September visit of Mrs Christine St. Pierre, the Minister of culture, Communications and Status of Women of Québec.
BAnQ is considering various forms of partnerships with these institutions. They are thinking of activities like joint exhibitions and exchange of expertise in different areas, like conservation for example.
The Québec Government Office in Los Angeles (DQLA) accompanied BAnQ’s representatives during that mission and they will be in charge of the follow-up of these meetings.
