We are pleased to present this winter edition of our cultural brochure “Québec Culture”, featuring a host of exciting cultural offerings from Québec on this side of the Atlantic.
There will be plenty to add to your diary after the festive season: Circus, Theatre, TV programmes, Literature, Dance, Music and even Visual Arts). We are delighted to share with you a marvellous selection of Québec cultural events; with both well established and rising stars; and even some award-winning shows. We could not be prouder of Québec’s culture and how well it is represented here.
This season will see cultural events coming to the United Kingdom, Sweden, Iceland, Ireland, Norway and Denmark.
Don’t forget that TV5 Monde UK is now FREE for UK viewers. You can watch it anytime, anywhere, with French or English subtitles, or without subtitles. They will offer a rich variety of Québec shows this January.
Finally, we are all looking forward to the start of the week of La Francophonie. This will include the popular Match International d’Improvisation (3rd April, London). Francophiles are invited to enjoy a friendly battle between two teams of actors from Québec and the UK as they mix humour and ingenuity to win the public’s votes. This is an original concept from Québec, best described as a cross between improvisational theatre and ice hockey.
These celebrations are an occasion for us to promote the richness and dynamism of the French language in all its diversity and encourage intercultural dialogue. Further events in literature, music and film will be announced in due course on our website
More details about this exciting week will be published on Twitter and Facebook, so stay tuned!
“We hope to have the opportunity to catch up with you this winter at one of the many cultural activities from Québec on offer in this brochure or indeed at one of our events celebrating La Francophonie this March": John A. Coleman, Agent-General.
