From September 23rd through 25th, Chicago hosted the 91st edition of WEFTEC (Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference), the world’s largest annual water quality exhibition. 20 companies from Quebec were on display, while some 15 Quebec companies made the trip to the conference as visitors.
One of the highlights of the companies’ visit to Chicago was the Quebec/TechWest Networking Reception held on September 24th. Over 150 guests from the US, Canada and Latin America attended the reception where operators of water and waste water treatment facilities had the opportunity to meet the Quebec companies in attendance. This was also the opportunity for the new Head of Post of the Quebec Government Office in Chicago, Martine Hébert, to pronounce her first speech in the Midwest in which she called for a deeper collaboration of our regions in the water treatment sector.
Our economic affairs officer for clean technologies, Leslie Westfall, also helped facilitate B2B meetings between Quebec companies and potential American partners. This was an excellent opportunity for them to develop strategic partnerships in this important sector.
The companies have shared their satisfaction with the mission and look forward to another successful mission next year for WEFTEC 2020 in New Orleans.
