Join Mathieu Lippé and Marc Kelly Smith for an evening dedicated to slam poetry, spoken word, and the accents that carry them. This Slam Poetry Performance will be presented in French and English by two modern-day poetry giants with a chance of audience participation during open mic. There is free admission with advanced registration so we invite you for a night of inspiration and genuine laughter!
The Slam Poetry Performance will be in part hosted by Mathieu Lippé, a true artist of the spoken word who has taken first place in the 2008 Grand Slam National du Québec and second place in the Poetry World Cup the same year. His co-host will be Marc Smith who is the creator/founder of the Uptown Poetry Cabaret deemed to have spread performance poetry globally by starting at the Chicago’s Green Mill Tavern in 1987 with over 2,000 performances worldwide.
Therefore, at the hands of two masters, the Slam Poetry Performance is something you will not want to miss and we hope to see you there. The event will take place on March 3rd at 7:00p.m. at the Alliance française de Chicago at 54 W. Chicago Ave.
