Québec City, November 10, 2020 – Québec Premier François Legault today highlighted the 45th anniversary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement concluded on November 11, 1975 between the Québec government, the Cree, the Inuit, the Government of Canada, and three government corporations, including Hydro-Québec. Given the event’s significance, on Tuesday Premier Legault tabled a motion in the National Assembly.

Recently elected Vermont Governor Phil Scott traveled to Québec City this week with members of his senior staff and cabinet for his first international trip as Governor. Gov. Scott and his team met with Premier Philippe Couillard, members of his Cabinet, and a number of business and industry groups seeking to highlight the strong collaboration between Québec and Vermont and their shared vision to strengthen the two States’ economies through trade, innovation and cooperation.
In memory of the victims of the attack in Québec City, the Government of Québec is making this book of condolences available to allow the public to pay tribute to the victims of the attack on the Islamic Cultural Centre in Québec City.
