Every day, Mary Beth Totten, our Agri-food Attachée, assists Québec companies to develop the New England market from our Boston office. Last week, Mary Beth got the chance to participate in a commercial mission held on the occasion of the Annual Congress of the Québec Fish Processors Association (AQIP) and visit the headquarters and production facilities of some of the companies she works with.
Annual congress of Québec Fish Processors Association (AQIP)
On January 29th and 30th, AQIP held its annual congress in Québec City. AQIP is a non-profit organization advocating for the commercial interests of its 46 fish processors members to the federal and provincial governments.
Commercial officers from Québec’s foreign offices recruited fourteen buyers from Canada, China, France and the United States, including two from New England. B2B meetings were organised between the visiting buyers and the Québec fish and seafood processors ready to expand their sales to the international market.
In addition to recruiting buyers, Mary Beth guided the group during familiarization visits and facilitated with the business meetings with the Québec companies.
Visit of Québec companies
Mary Beth also got the opportunity to visit the facilities of Québec companies interested in increasing their presence in New England and to advise them on their export strategy.
